Anil Janardhanan

Anil Janardhanan who draws under the nom-de-plume of ‘ANIL VEGA’ was born on 25th of May, 1968, at Kottayam as the son of late Janardhanan Nair and Sulochana amma. He is married to Preethy. He has two sons , Nithin Krishna and Naveen Krishna. Anil Jananrdhanan was interested in drawing and illustration from his schooldays. During his college days in S.V.R.N.S.S.College, Vazhoor, he won the Gandhiji University Youth Festival Prize for Cartoon section in 1987. He is a Fine Arts Diploma holder in painting and drawing. His interest and contributions in in the field of children’s illustrations helped him to acquire a job in the publication ‘Poompatta’ in 1990. He had been working there as an artist till 1998. Then he shifted to ‘Balarama’, another publication for children and continued there till 2005. He was the Bhima award winner for Children’s Illustrations in the year 2002. In the Malayala Manorama Weekly he has illustrated a Cartoon namely ‘Kinginikkuttan’ for more than 2 years. Another full page cartoon ‘Gulumal Street’ of his was also published for one year in the Mangalam Weekly. Later he became a full time freelance artist. More than 20 books for children and one short story penned by Anil have been published so far. He is now the Managing Editor of Vega Features, a group producing picture stories for children. Great work!. Just few suggestions, reduce the size to 900px wide with 72px resolution, so that it will load fast and fit the screen while popup. Expect more similar posts.. Good Luck!

This, for me,is the kind of work that requires enormous paience.For a quickie like me, this steadiness is too far away.

But, I wish that Anil could have showcased some of his 'antique' cartoons as well, here.
