M K Seeri who draws under the nom-de-plume ‘SEERI’ was born on 5 th May 1936, at Cherai, Kochi as the son of Late Perumana Koru Vaidyar and M. C. Devaky. He is married to Vilasini. He has two children, Russell and Robin.
Educational Qualifications : SSLC, Diploma in drawing and painting.
Started drawing cartoons while studying in the Cochin School of Arts , Ernakulam. First cartoon appeared in Malayala Manorama Annual in 1962. Since then drew cartoons in Malayalam periodicals. Presently cartoons appear in most periodicals. Was teacher in Rama Varma Union High School Cherai from 1961. After retirement in 1991 running a cartoon institute namely “Disney school of cartooning at Cherai. He had served as the Chairman of Kerala Cartoon Academy.Awards:- Dr. Joseph Nadayath Memorial Award in 2000Cartoonist K.S.Pillai Memorial award for the best Freelance cartoonist in 2005.
